Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell has been a chef and television presenter in the US and a teacher at Institute of Culinary Education. Anne W. Burrell is the host on Secrets of a Restaurant Chef for the Food Network, as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Burrell, who grew up in New York State's Upstate, discovered a love of cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step for her after she graduated with an Associate of Arts degree in English and Communications from Canisius College Buffalo NY. I enjoyed every moment during my time at The Culinary Institute of America she states. It was hard to study and do enough or put in the hours. After graduating, Burrell spent one year in Italy studying in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as in Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, an Michelin-starred restaurant. While in Italy Burrell developed a profound appreciation and understanding of Italian food and culture. This will have a significant impact on how Burrell cooks. Burrell is a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which helps brighten children who are facing obstacles and is also a Juvenile diabetes research foundation Celebrity Ambassador, where she is an advocate for the awareness of juvenile diabetes. In her capacity as a speaker, she travels across the nation to share her passion for food as well as her career in the culinary field.
