Rashida Jones
Rashida Jones was born in Los Angeles,
California, the younger daughter of media mogul, producer and singer Quincy
Jones and actress Peggy Lipton. She has an older sister, Kidada Jones, as well
as five half-siblings by her father's other relationships. Her father is
African-American and her mother is Ashkenazi Jewish (a descendant from the
emigrants who emigrated to Russia as well as Latvia). Rashida was raised in
Reform Judaism. She was born in Bel Air, Los Angeles. Jones has made statements
about her dual race parents, "It was the 1970s and still not that
acceptable for them to be together." Jones made her debut as a
professional actor in The Last Don in 1997 the mini-series based on Mario Puzo.
In 1997, Rashida graduated from Harvard University. In 1997, she attended the

"Starry Night." The poem inspired the title of the song. Rashida's
father, who's African-American also has a lesser amount of English, Scottish
and Welsh ancestry (some ancestors of Rashida's African ancestral line are of
the Tikar people of Cameroon). Rashida's mom, Ashkenazi Jewish (of Russian
Jewish heritage and Latvian Jewish heritage), is Rashida. Her paternal
grandparents are of South Carolina and Mississippi, respectively. Her maternal
grandfather was born to New Yorkers, while her maternal grandmother was of
Eastern European Jewish heritage. She has played three characters that are
named "Karen" from 2009 to present on the TV show that is a cult
comedy show Freaks and Geeks (1999), Stella (2006), and The Office (2005).
